Raising awareness, building a strong community for people with Lewy Body Dementia and their caregivers and fundraising for LBD research form the backbone of our operations here at the Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center of New York. We’re very excited (albeit busy!) right now because, on July 20th, we’ll get to do just that and more at The David B. Shepard Gala in Garden City, New York, for A Night to Remember. During the event, we’ll hear from Susan Schneider Williams, who lost her husband actor and comedian Robin Williams in 2014 amidst his struggle with LBD.
A Night to Remember will be a magical evening for everyone in the LBD community as we celebrate and honor industry pioneer and renowned marketing expert David B. Shepard for his lifelong accomplishments, the latest of which include showing incredible courage and determination during his struggle with LBD.
We’re thrilled to have the opportunity for Susan Schneider Williams to share her experience and insight as Special Guest Speaker. Ms. Schneider Williams serves on the Board of Directors of the American Brain Foundation and has become a very important advocate for our cause. Her words will touch the hearts of many of our friends in the audience and will serve as an inspiration to those with LBD and their loved ones. Seeing this incredible outpouring of support for LBD warms our hearts and reminds us, once again, how blessed we are to have the opportunity to participate in this powerful cause.
The proceeds from the evening will benefit both LBDRC and the American Brain Foundation, supporting our mutual goals of working with the medical community to increase LBD and dementia research and education in hope of developing new therapies and diagnostic tools.
There are a few sponsorship spots remaining, so if you’re interested in supporting The David B. A Night to Remember is a unique opportunity to honor Mr. Shepard, but it’s also an excellent chance to celebrate everyone in our LBD community. We hope to see you there!
